Nice to meet you!

Hi!  I'm Shannon.  And I'm excited to tell you more about myself and how Sigma Organizing + Consulting came to life.  


From an early age, I have always loved organizing, but after spending time at home with my two young boys during the pandemic, my need for living in an organized space was reinforced.  


I decided to use some of my passion, skills and training towards putting systems in place at home to help keep us better organized.  I also discovered the world of professional organizing and became energized by the idea of bringing the benefits of organization to other homes and small businesses.  And so, the idea behind Sigma Organizing + Consulting was ignited. 

Experience

After receiving my HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, I worked in public accounting and obtained my CPA designation.  I had the benefit of working with dozens of different businesses in different industries (including living in Houston, Texas).  During my time in public accounting, I honed my attention to detail, understanding of process and efficiency, and adaptability.  


I then took my analytical expertise to the healthcare industry where I worked for nearly a decade and obtained a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma Process Improvement (check out my blog for more info on this).  Having the right thing at the right place at the right time is critical in a healthcare setting, but it's also incredibly important in any home and business.  


More recently, I joined the Professional Organizers in Canada and completed their Trained Professional Organizer program.  I serve as Treasurer on the London Chapter and continue my learning daily through different media and professional development opportunities.  


Beyond all formal methods of training, it is my time at home as a mom to 2 young boys that continues to teach me the real-world challenges of becoming and staying organized.  It has also taught me the importance of living in a calm environment that supports our daily lives.  


It's easy to get overwhelmed and not know where to start.  It's also hard to find the time and energy to tackle organizing projects.  I get it!  And that's why I would love to help you.

When I'm not organizing

For family time, we enjoy the outdoors, hiking, biking and exploring.  Gardening, cutting hair (a skill that came in handy during the pandemic!), and painting walls and furniture are also fun in my world.  I enjoy photography (the amateur kind using my phone) and love to capture life's experiences during this crazy phase.
